Christine's Fabulous Rice

short grain rice (Arborio or
Italian Style) |

packed brown sugar |

cinnamon |

salt |

raisins (optional) |
50 mL |

vanilla |

Directions |
|
In heavy
saucepan, bring milk, whipping cream, rice, sugar, cinnamon
and salt to a boil over medium heat, stirring often. Reduce
heat to low; cover and simmer, stirring occasionally for 20
minutes. Stir in raisins (if using). Cover and simmer,
stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes longer or until rice is
very tender. Stir in vanilla. Serve warm or cold.
*
Evaporated milk may be substituted. |
